Also, the deadline to register for Babe Ruth (grades 7-8-9) has been extended. Please email barone1077@aol.com if interested. For 8th graders trying out for SLHS Freshman Baseball, BR does NOT conflict.

2026 DIVISIONAL INFO:

 

ROOKIE-BALL  – 4 year old (born Born 5-1-21 to 4-30-22– a VERY basic introduction to the game of baseball. Set up similar to Dynamites Soccer with players being taught basic skills, etc. Coaches will be needed. Plays on Friday evenings at HES.  Rookie-Ball is COED. Players can be registered through either HYB or HGSL. Will start the week before Opening Day. 

 

TEE-BALL – Pre-K and Kindergarten (born before 5-1-21). Players will be placed on teams and learn basic baseball skills. Games will be played mid-day on Sundays with an occasional weeknight game. This division is COED. Players can be registered through either HYB or HGSL. Coaches are needed! Teams will practice once per week beginning in early April. 

    

FARM” League  - 1st and 2nd Grades. Players will begin to learn more skills and strategies of “real” baseball. Games will be played mid-day on Sundays with some weeknights. Teams will practice once per week beginning in early April. Coaches are needed! Halifax teams may play a few games against Farm teams from another town.

 

 MINOR” League – 3rd & 4th Grades. First introduction to real (win/lose) games, with player pitching, stealing, etc. Teams will play two games per week and 1 practice. Games will be on Mondays, Wdnesdays or Fridays. (approximately 2 games per week using any of those 3 days). Halifax will form evenly competitive teams to play in a joint league with Pembroke teams.  Games will be played at HES and in Pembroke. Team practices will begin in early April.

 

 MAJOR” League – 5th & 6th Grades. Teams will play two games per week and 1 practice. Games will be on  Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays.  (approximately 2 games per week using any of those 3 days). Halifax will form evenly competitive teams to play inj a joint league with Pembroke teams. Games will be played at HES and in Pembroke. Team practices will begin in early April. Games are played on a “50/70” size field, which is slightly bigger than a traditional Little League diamond, to help transition to the full size field in 7th grade.

 

BABE RUTH – 7th, 8th, 9th Grades: Teams will play approx 2 games per week, on weeknights (no wknds). Halifax will form evenly competitive teams to play in a league with Pembroke, Marshfield, Duxbury, Kingston & Plymouth. Games will be played at HES or at the above team’s complexes.

 

 

NEWS

2025 UMPIRE TRAINING CLASS INFO:

 

Ken Moalli & Don Serino will again be holding their Umpire Training Course for Baseball & Softball. This will be held beginning in March (TBA).

 

This class is geared to teach individuals (age13+) with a fundamental knowledge of the games of Baseball and/or Softball how to officiate and manage a game. Once a candidate passes the course, they will be eligible to not only officiate games in Halifax, but almost anywhere in the South Shore area.

Cost will be $150 per student and includes an umpire kit and shirt. Please contact Ken Moalli at kmoallibaseball@gmail.com for more information.

 

This a great course, and a GREAT opportunity to make some decent $$.

 

 

 

2023 WINTER SKILLS CLINIC Info:

We are happy to announce that we have again set up our Baseball Skills Clinic for 4th/5th/6th grade players for this Winter. Last year went great, with plenty of reps, etc for all players.

 

*This year's clinic will run 8 weeks on Monday evenings, beginning January 9th and ending February 27.

*Sessions will be 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Dux-Plex Indoor facility in Duxbury. The Dux-Plex is Huge, a full size turf infield, multiple batting tunnels, etc.

*Cost is 125.00 per player which covers all 8 sessions.

*We will also be hiring a Pitching & Catching instructor (there will be an additional small fee -TBD- to take part in one/both of those skills).

*This is a GREAT, inexpensive opportunity for players this age to work on hitting, fielding, throwing mechanics, baserunning, catchers, live scrimmages, etc.
